Medarex, which is increasingly being talked up as a buyout candidate for big pharma, has signed a deal to collaborate with Compugen Ltd., an Israeli drug and diagnostic maker, to develop monoclonal antibody-based drugs for cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Both companies will share development and commercialization along with revenue from the sale of any product. Compugen will use its antibody-target discovery technology to identify drug targets and Medarex will develop antibodies.
