The drugmaker has reportedly hired BNP Paribas to assist in a possible bid for Bristol-Myers Squibb.
The report, which was confirmed by an unnamed source “close” to the French investment banking firm, only furthers speculation that a deal is being pursued.
Of course, a host of questions remain unanswered: When might Sanofi make a bid? For how much? Which, if any other drugmaker may jump in?
