Bird Flu Vaccine Appears Safe

The Sanofi-Aventis vaccine for the H5N1 strain showed “no significant safety signals,” according to FDA staffers, who reviewed the vaccine in advance of a two-day advisory committee meeting starting tomorrow. They also indicated the vaccine seems to work better at higher doses, but that doesn’t mean its effective. You can read all of the FDA briefing documents here.
