The struggling little company this morning issued a statement saying it will appeal a recent FDA decision rejecting approval of its Genasense cancer drug.
The agency issued a non-approvable notice two months ago. In simple English, this means ‘fuggehdabotit.’ To convince the agency, Genta will have to start a new clinical trial.
Genta wants Genasense approved for use with chemotherapy in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a type of blood cancer. The company will file its appeal by the end of March.
