Glaxo Sues Ranbaxy Over Valtrex Patent

At issue is Valtrex, a herpes treatment that generated more than $800 million in sales last year for Glaxo. However, Ranbaxy just received FDA approval to market a generic and plans to do so in the U.S., although Glaxo maintains its patents don’t expire until 2009.

Glaxo, of course, is seeking an injunction. You can read more in this Associated Press report. [tags]GlaxoSmithKline, Patents, Ranbaxy Labs, Valtrex[/tags]
