The healthcare giant lured Bill Hait from the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, which he developed into a major center. The 57-year-old oncologist will oversee J&J’s worldwide cancer research and development, which he calls “a dream job.”
As The Star-Ledger of New Jersey points out, his departure comes as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey faces an investigation into fraud charges by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and after several high profile leaders have left, including Harold Paz, dean of the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick.
