Do AstraZeneca Reps Work Hard?

Not terribly, no. Well, that’s if you believe a poll on the CafePharma web site. The pill peddlers are asked to ‘fess up and choose one of the following:
3-4 hrs a day: collect sigs & go home;
5-6 hrs: do lunches whenever I can & get sigs to leave asap;
7-8 hrs: in the field by 9 leave by 3 plus travel & paperwork;
8 or more hrs: field all day plus all the extras
Of the 110 votes in so far, 50 - or 45 percent - say they work 8 hours or more. And 37, or 34 percent, put in a solid 7 to 8 hours. Only 10 reps, or 9 percent, admit to being a sloth. Of course, these polls are all anonymous so some sarcasm and spinning is inevitable. And anyone visiting the site can vote, so one doesn’t know if its really true.
Then again, we all know sales reps work hard, so why not give them the benefit of the doubt? After all, schlepping lunches and making copies of off-label studies can take a lot of time.
