		<description>This is a great step by GSK and one that will help the image of Big Pharma. The company and its predecessors have been operating in emerging markets for decades and its good to see that expertise and contacts applied to a very treatable problem. I attended a symposium last year on emerging diseases and heard that so-called 'developing market' diseases have very real ability to reach the West (SARS...) and we should look at this as a global problem not isolated to 'over there'. One speaker from WHO was very impressive, pointing out how much could be done with very modest investment. Perhaps Gates really has proved to be an effective catalyst.</description>
