Frank Deane, currently the vice president for quality, is now manufacturing prez. He succeeds Scott Canute, who has led the manufacturing organization since 2001, but is taking a leave of absence to study business leadership.
Deane joined Lilly in 1979 at a manufacturing plant in Kinsale, Ireland; worked in Indiana and Puerto Rico in subsequent years, and returned to Indianapolis in 1993 to head US drug manufacturing and oversee active ingredient ops.
He’ll report to John Lechleiter, Ph.D., president and chief operating officer, and remain a member of the company’s operations committee. But he also joins the corporate policy and strategy committee.[tags]Eli Lilly, Frank Deane[/tags]
