AstraZeneca Scandal: Scarlett Says Goodbye

You may recall that Scarlett Spring, the AstraZeneca national oncology manager with the movie star name, resigned recently.
Her departure occurs just after the drugmaker concluded an internal investigation into the origins of a company newsletter in which one of her regional sales managers, Mike Zubillaga, likened a doc’s office to a ‘big bucket of money,’ and referred to sales practices that hued quite close to off-label marketing. The affair prompted Congressman Pete Stark to ask the HHS Office of Inspector General to investigate.
Mike is keeping a low profile at home while he attempts to look for another job; he has five kids. Scarlett hasn’t divulged her plans, but her fond farewell to the whipsawed sales team was passed along by the infamous Group of Seven. You can listen to her voicemail here.
