Just discovered Pharmalot. If you are interested in the epidemic of prescription drug misuse in our country, there is a radio show on Sunday nights from Clearwater, Fl
Only show like it in america. It is hosted by a pharmacist who has experienced drug misuse in his family. The drug manufacturers are “narcotic vendors” and the medical and pharmacy boards are inept or don’t care.

I recently on March 23, 2007 lost my daughter to an
accidential overdose of oxycodin and Percocet. She died
in her sleep. The pain management physician gave her
at one time a perscription for 275 Percocet and then
oxycodin on top of that. I hope no other family has to go
through this pain and suffering. I even called the doctor to
tell him I thought he was giving her to much medicine and his
nurse informed me that she was not allowed to talk with me
about this problem. I never got a call back from the physician.
This is a problem that really needs to be addressed.

I hope you get some closure and resolution. I would strongly push you to bring this to the medical board’s attention. No one should have to go through something like that. I sounds like a horrible job of caring for your daughter by the physician. But if she was over 18, in this day and age of HIPPA, the nurses hands were tied. But that doesn’t relieve the doc of responsibility.
