What no response.....

Assemblyman Conoway gets a "FREE RIDE" at the expense of NJ Children.

Or is it because he's a NJ Legislator, who just happens to be Physician... Shouldnt he be held up to public scrutiny..

I guess not.......

Maybe Reporters should investigate Assemblyman Herb Conoway,Chairman, of NJ Health and Senior sevices, ties to the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Dr. Conoway blocked vital, life saving legislation, that would have protected NJ's children from drugs that carry
Black Box warnings, and a Parents right to make life saving informed decisions on behalf of their children.

Dr. Conoway is more interested in protecting his campaign and honorary contributions he receives from Drug Companies than he does about protecting NJ children from UNSAFE AND INEFFECTIVE DRUGS.

Where is the "PRESS"on this one....ED!!!!

The notion that there are ONLY people who have conflicts of interest to sit on these committee is ridiculous. There are plenty of very intelligent and well-trained health professionals who do not have any ties with industry who could fill these roles. "Though leaders" with conflicts of interest should not be making formulary decisions. I presume there are at least 8 people in the State of Minnesota who do not have conflicts of interest who could participate in the Drug Formulary Committee. These "apparent" conflicts of interest should not be tolerated. The public deserves better.

Hi Jack,

Yes, it is a lot of money, isn't it? And if one has nothing to hide, then disclosure shouldn't be an issue - at the very least.

Thanks for stopping by,
ed the Pharmalot guy

These panels tend to seek the top thought leaders in their field, and those individuals usually work at the cutting edge - which all but necessitates some contact with industry.

Still, I think the magnitude of this compensation (which gave me pause - half a million!), warrants further investigation into how the people who receive this compensation vote.
