Bob & Sid--

Perhaps you could invent a cyber-Taser . . . and use that on Lisa. I hear it's great . . . it may not quell dissent, but it certainly punishes the dissenter!

Since Big Pharma has such a large presence in NJ, and pays correspondingly large sums in taxes and political contributions, I doubt NJ politicians consider it judicious to hold Pharma Manufacurer's accountable for their actions.

After all, NJ legislators haven't even passed a State False Claims Act, which would encourage employees to report fraud, and would enable NJ to collect tens, or even hundreds of millions of dollars in Medicaid overpayments.

Whether or not NJ takes an active role in this litigation, they'll most likely still collect their portion of any settlement.

What about Florida? 2005 was the last I heard of this:

In June 2005, Lilly received a subpoena from the office of the Attorney General, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, of the State of Florida, seeking production of documents relating to sales of Zyprexa and their marketing and promotional practices with respect to Zyprexa.

In fact New Jersey is one of about 20 states with a Medicaid "Behavioral Pharmacy Management Program" funded 100% by Eli Lilly.

See Lilly's own press release bragging about this program:

The New York Times uncovered part of the truth about Lilly's true motive for funding this program:
