And just how many people can you cut from the top? How much of an impact will that really make on the bottom line?

Say you eliminate 20 percent of Chief Officers–that cuts one, maybe two people. That eliminates a few hundred thousand dollars in salary, even if you fire their executive assistants.

Say you eliminate 10 percent of the Vice Presidents. How many people are you letting go–maybe a few hundred at most? So you’ve eliminated, at most, $40 million. That’s virtually nothing when you’re dealing with major corporations like Pfizer.

You cut at the bottom because that’s where the majority of the people are.

Obviously people at the bottom MUST be obese since corporate “fat-trimming” always seems to originate at the bottom of the corporate ladder–never at the top!
