Bill Maher: The Answer Isn’t Another Pill

With the presidential campaign season in full swing, you know the pharmaceutical industry will attract some attention. Bill does his share…

“If you believe you need to take all the pills the pharmaceutical industry says you do, then you’re already on drugs…,” he says. Then, a moment later, he adds….

“…Diet and exercise don’t fail, a fact brought home last week by a new Duke University study that showed diet and exercise is just an effective a cure for depression as Paxil and Zoloft. So ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.”

  1. Right on.

  2. I couldn’t agree more. Not only is exercise just as good as prozac for depression, but diet and exercise are twice as good as drugs for prevention of repeat heart attacks in people with heart disease, or prevention of type 2 diabetes in at risk persons. In addition, people who eat in fast food restaurants twice a week or more have a greater than 90% risk of developing type 2 diabetes or heart disease.

  3. Why are we as a people becoming a nation of fatsos? We are what we eat.

  4. I think are becoming what pill we take!

  5. Well I wish I would have figured this out before I got stuck on Zoloft for 8 years. Coming off that drug has nearly ended my life because the withdrawal has been brutal and hellish. AD’s for long term use is criminal!
Drug companies need to be strung up by their gonads for getting this nation physically addicted to its drugs and telling people they are not addictive. That is BS.
