The Zyprexa Pen Knife: Doctor, Defend Thyself?
6 CommentsBy Ed Silverman // October 10th, 2007 // 7:42 am
This is an odd choice for a giveaway. We know the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder can sometimes include thoughts of hurting one’s self or another person. Not the sort of item to be left lying around a doctor’s office, or anywhere for that matter. Granted, this could be shoved in a file cabinet. But what was the Lilly marketing team thinking? Couldn’t the drugmaker have stuck with pens, towels, clocks or popcorn, as some others do? At least the hand wash made sense.
[UPDATE: A Lilly spokeswoman called and maintains the knife hasn't been distributed in at least five years, and employees have been trying to gather them up ever since.]

Ed,
Maybe they should have considered a “BLOOD SUGAR MONITOR”.
You should visit http://www.ssristories.com and check out all the people who were on prozac and committed horrific acts of violence…

Lisa, The knife must represent all the violence done to patients who were unlucky enough to be put on Zyprexa.
