Peter Rost Returns To BrandWeek, Sort Of

This is for the Peter Rost groupies out there. Last week, we wrote that the former Pfizer exec - a gadfly who made a name for himself as a whistleblower and champion of importing meds from Canada - lost his eyebrow-raising blogging gig at BrandWeekNRX. At the time, Rost acknowledged that “advertising revenue, one year after Brandweek started the site, doesn’t justify the current cost. So that gig is over.” (The back story).
Having written a pair of mystery novels and toyed with the idea of entering journalism, Rost quickly regrouped by launching a legal consulting business designed to help law firms that are investigating pharma matters, an enterprise he was already pursuing. Now, though, BrandWeek has decided to bring Rost back, at least temporarily.
“We let him go in December because of lack of advertising, but are bringing him back in January even (though) we don’t have ads to support him - yet,” Todd Wasserman, BrandWeek’s editor writes us. “Peter is great at generating traffic and we like being able to take part in the pharma blogging discussions, so we wanted to bring him back on a month-to-month basis.”
So for those of you were happy to see him go, a celebration turns out to be premature. And those of you who were ready to mourn his departure, well, you can indulge once more.

A bit of trivia: Think I read on Corey Nahman blog some time ago that Dr. Rost is a multi- millionare and is a decendent of nobility. This suprised me, considering his disposition and stance on the issues facing the peasants.
