Health care workers should let the patient know all the options, including which ones are the most effective. You cannot create a double-blind study between a drug and a non-drug treatment. There is no placebo. Obviously, people know they can quit cold turkey, but they should be aware of drug treatment or nicotine-replacement.

Just give the patient to info and let them decide.
