At Long Last, Someone Values Peter Dolan

The hermetic former Bristol-Myers Squibb ceo, who was ousted in September 2006 after a bungled attempt to thwart a generic rival, has resurfaced as a board member at Gemin X Pharmaceuticals, a privately held outfit trying to develop cancer meds.
“We are extremely pleased to have Peter join our board,” Robert McNeil, founding managing director of Sanderling Ventures and the chairman at Gemin X, says in a statement. “Peter brings a wealth of experience in running a global pharmaceutical company, having served in numerous leadership positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb, most recently as CEO for more than five years.”
Tim Barberich, Sepracor’s chairman and another Gemin X director, added his own optimistic note: “The strength and caliber of Peter’s business and operational knowledge as well as his insight into the industry will be extremely valuable as our novel oncology therapeutics advance towards later-stage clinical development and ultimately, commercialization.”
Time will tell. Meanwhile, perhaps Dolan can counsel Gemin X on the intricacies of negotiating with other drugmakers, the fine art of avoiding channel stuffing or improving communication between management and its board. (Some background).

Great news, he will be a decided asset to the Board.
