Which Drug Websites Do Doctors Visit The Most?

The sites that feature diabetes meds top the list, with Merck’s Januvia garnering the No. 1 ranking and Takeda Pharmaceutical’s Actos finishing second, according to Manhattan Research, which says it conducted an online survey in this year’s second quarter of 1,681 docs practicing in the US.
Interestingly, the research firm says that more docs are visiting sites for controversial drugs - Pfizer’s Chantix smoking-cessation pill and Merck’s Gardasil vaccine for HPV. Actos, by the way, crashed the list for the first time, perhaps reflecting the problems with a rival diabetes pill, Glaxo’s Avandia.
1. Januvia
2. Actos
3. Chantix
4. Gardasil
5. Actonel
6. Vytorin
7. Amitiza
8. Byetta
9. Avandia
10. Aciphex

I don’t think these are the sites the doctors, ‘like’ the most. It’s a matter of clinical necessity due to the controversy or complexity of the medications listed.

Hi Dan,
Good point. I’ve tweaked the headline to make that clear.
