Providing the research is done. I’d like to know if the sperm damage is long term, or if normal sperm will be produced after stopping the drug. And how long it would take. Imagine the preemption battle if the off-label use in adolescents left teen boys infertile! How do you begin to parse that?

And when will they start studies to see whether a woman’s eggs are damaged by Paxil? If eggs are damaged, women are screwed. We only get so many.

More investment is needed in other mental health treatments such as talking therapies and exercise therapy.

I think this is an excellent idea since a recent study found exercise works just as well, if not better, than antidepressants (can’t find my source, but I believe Ed mentioned it). I am continually amazed at the lengths people will go to not have to exercise.

So let me see..

Paxil makes children and adults kill themselves, causes personality changes, and makes people more aggressive and hostile , it causes a severe withdrawal reaction in a larger number of users, it can be additive and create dependence, it causes birth defects , and now it seems it damages the DNA in men’s sperm thus possibly leading to infertility?..

Can anyone give me one reason why this vile chemical is still on the market?

And failing that, can anyone genuinely explain to me how the benefits of this drug outweigh the risks? ….

I think it should be banned…
