Ed, As to the orchid story, above, I wonder whether this big payment from Merck (Schering-Plough’s 50-50 Cholesterol Joint Venture partner) presages wider disagreements between the two Jersey heavyweights. Remember that Schering is very-actively prosecuting a patent infringement suit against Orchid — Merck’s co-development party, in the above anti-infectious drug R & D deal — more here:
