Hired someone new and exciting? Promoted a rising star? Finally solved that hard-to-fill spot? Share the news with us and we’ll share with it others. That’s right. Send us your announcements and we’ll find a home for them. Don’t be shy. Everyone wants to know who is coming and going, especially with all the layoffs. Despite the downsizing, there is movement. Here are some of the latest changes. Recognize anyone?
And here’s a new approach we hope to make a regular feature. Send us a photo and we will spotlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that RXi Pharmaceuticals, which is developing drugs based on RNAi, or RNA interference, has hired Anastasia Khvorova as chief scientific officer. Prior to joining RXi, she spent six years at Dharmacon, most recently as CSO and vp of R&D. Before that Khvorova was a research scientist at Amgen, where she worked on developing RNAi technology.
Glades Pharmaceuticals promoted Bob Cunard to president;
Lixte Biotechnology named Mel Sorensen to its board;
Lilly elected Doug Oberhelman to its board;
Medco Health Solutions elected Nancy-Ann DeParle to its board;
Vitae Pharmaceuticals promoted Tina Fiumenero to chief financial officer;
Abraxis BioScience named Edward Geehr as exec vp of operations;
Acusphere named Michael Slater as senior vp, regulatory affairs and operations.
Pfizer hired Mace Rothenberg, as senior vp, clinical development and medical affairs for oncology.
