This time around, we note that Ian Spatz, who is Merck’s vice president of global health policy and a fixture on the Washington DC scene, will be leaving the drugmaker at the end of the year. Knowledgeable, articulate and gracious, Spatz has always been one of the more helpful and informative people to represent big pharma. We wish him well.

Cornerstone Therapeutics hired Josh Franklin vp of marketing;
Cytochroma named Ulrik Spork to its board;
Novis appointed John Arlotta as chairman;
Abt Bio-Pharma named Karen Walton-Bowen as senior director, biometrics;
WellSpring Pharmaceutical promoted Wendy Shusko to chief operating officer;
Amazon Biotech named founder Chaim Lieberman to succeed Eliyahu Bental as ceo;
Hydra Biosciences named David Kimball as chief scientific officer;
Hydra Biosciences named Christine Bellon as vp of IP and legal affairs.
