We all know that Former Senator Tom Daschle has withdrawn his nomination to head the Department of Health and Human Services. Many Americans feel that this issue regarding the broken health care system needs to be addressed, since the reform of health care was one of his biggest campaign platforms. The budget for the program tops out at about $650 billion, which is one of the largest health care budgets ever. The big pharmaceutical and insurance lobbies are annoyed, because they may not get to profit as much as they would like. Their crocodile tears pale in comparison to the tears cried due to the amount of deaths in this country that arise from inadequate access to health care which is universal in other industrialized nations. Everyone is entitled to have an affordable health care.

Apparently some conflicts of issue have already been raised about Tom Daschel; if he dos not fly and Obama wants someone who is an outspoken critic of the pharmaceutical industry and the medical profession in general, how about he reachs across the aisle and chooses Senator Grassley. I must admit though I don't know Senator Grassley's stance on the Health Care coverage issue.

Dr. David Graham, a man of great integrity who knows where all the (internal FDA as well as patients) are buried. No ties or allegiances to Pharma.

After Daschle to head the Health and Human Service Secreatry the next question will be: who will be the next FDA commissioner?

I hope it will be Peter Rost, not only because he blew the whistle but he also writes interesting books.

Dr. Rost, will you or someone else continue your blog after you get nominated?

John Mack - I took your survey, but the "results so far" never appeared. When will it end so that the final tally will be announced?

Thanks.

He's back!!!!

Hopefully the Chinese will give the American government the money to pay for the growing health care bureaucracy. We need help from the Chinese and wealthy people... Heck, young workers and immigrants are not sufficient to pay for old people's social security and Medicare (thank you AARP)... as well as all those bailouts of Wall Street firms, retailers, automobile firms, homeowners, etc.

That's pretty cool . . . since back in September 2004 I did a press conference with Senator Daschle about reimportation of drugs, on the lawn next to the U.S. Capitol. At least now I know the guy I should apply for a job with . . .
