Starting a Monday without new Pharmalot fodder is like. . . waking up, and finding that my favorite crack pipe has gone. . . missing.

"Where, Oh Where" can Ed be?

We miss you buddy -- enjoy the ride!

Just a Thought,

Three years ago I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Kelly Preston and John Travolta at a benefit in New York City. The Fight for Kids Organization, on behalf of Kelly Preston, I was invited ro share my family's story of antidepressants and suicide attempts. I also shared with Kelly my son's diagnosis of Kawasaki's Disease when he was 2 1/2. I saw for myself, the kindness and compassion that Kelly and John displayed, as they listened to the stories from parents whos children attempted or committed suicide due to the side effects of antidepressants. How sad it is, that these two wonderful people, who, with others they met three years ago, would share the greatest pain of all,.. the loss of a child. My thoughts and prayers are with them as they grieve over the loss of their son.

Jett Travolta

This is a strange case. I have had a hard time finding anything that mentions seizures as a symptom of Kawasaki disease (except in the recent news about Jett's passing). Everything I'm reading says it is a blood vessel condition that causes aneurysms and can effect the lymph nodes. I have read that Jett was thought to have autism which went untreated. Could he have had epilepsy too or instead?
It seems odd they called it a seizure before they did an autopsy to eliminate a severe aneurysm (brain or heart) first. There were no witnesses.

If you Google -scientology and epilepsy- you will find some pretty disturbing things. They don't appear to want to accept it anymore than they want to accept autism or any other brain malfunction. The brain IS part of the body- for crying out loud.

If an EEG can detect brain disturbances the way an ECG can detect heart disturbances- how can anyone believe seizures are not equally physical occurrences? Like it's okay to have seizures if they are the result of Kawasaki disease but don't say the E word? I'm not saying he had epilepsy- it was just interesting that seizure was the call. He must have been having them prior.
Maybe I missed something.

Whatever happened- it is a horrible and sad thing.
