I find this debate very interesting. Who should CMS be looking out for? My husband is currently being treated for AMD with Avastin and we are very pleased and thankfull that CMS covers for this treatment. We would never be able to easily afford the more expensive Lucentis. After reasearching the effect of both drugs, we feel that we made the right choice.
Our sincere thanks to the Special Committee on Aging for "Seeing it clearly". My husband now has a chance to stop or reduce the effects of this disease.

Interesting ED.

What I find curious is that the same government that goes after companies for defrauding the government when they are caught promoting (and causing the government to reimburse) drugs for off label uses is the very same government than is now promoting (and reimbursing) an off-label use themselves.
