Pharma Watchdog Nominated As An FTC Commish

Who? Julie Brill, who was Vermont’s assistant attorney general for consumer protection and antitrust, where she spearheaded efforts to publicize pharma payments to docs and rein in some marketing practices, The Pink Sheet writes*. She championed, for instance, a controversial data mining law (see here).
Brill worked in Vermont from 1988 to 2009 before moving earlier this year to North Carolina, where she is senior deputy attorney general in charge of the consumer protection division. If she makes the cut, she will become one of five FTC commissioners.
