All these new drugs provide the opportunity to create new words. Here are some options:

Viaggravation--When you still can't do it.

Celebrexion--A heart-breaking occasion.

Plavices--Death by a thousand cuts.

Lipitoro--One big, juicy lawn mower.

Nexia--The wrong snacks.

And the award for "Least Novel Potential Blockbuster" goes to: Qnexa, hands down. What a joke. The FDA should simply laugh such applications out of the building.

Ed, Provenge is listed above as "Dendreon's controversial prostate cancer vaccine." Following the IMPACT study, I don't think there is anything 'controversial' about Provenge; but there is a lot of controversay around Dendreon and those who tried to kill the company and Provenge. In short, the numbers for Provenge all add up now and 'controversial' prostate cancer drug misses what Provenge is really all about--a paradigm shift in how PCa and cancer will be treated in the future.

Pradaxa, from Boehringer Ingelheim, may actually be approved before Xarelto. In the end it may help the consumer, as prices may be a little lower.
