‘Little Women’ Talk To The FDA About Gardasil

The controversy over the Gardasil vaccine for HPV, which can lead to cervical cancer, has never really gone away and this morning six women will hold a teleconference with several FDA officials to discuss numerous adverse events they say they have collected from various countries in hopes of convincing the agency to take a tougher look at the Merck product.
They call themsevles the “Little Women,” and they say they’ve spent the past three years documenting Gardasil. They also run a web site called TruthAboutGardasil, which displays pictures of young women who, their families claim, were harmed by the vaccine. For its part, Merck has always stood by the safety of Gardasil and last year, both the FDA and the CDC reaffirmed the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness (see here and here).
Since Gardasil was approved in 2006 for girls and women between ages 9 and 26, the vaccine stirred controversy as some social conservatives feared vaccination would give youngsters a green light to premarital sex. Merck’s marketing push for mandatory vaccination also backfired (see here and here). But ongoing media reports and anecdotal stories about adverse events persist. And so the FDA offered what it calls a listening session with officials from Center of Biologics Evaluation and Research and the Office of Special Health Issues. Afterwards, the group plans to release its data publicly (see statement).

This may sound heretical, but I believe that the HPV vaccines are just as likely to cause cancer as they are to prevent cancer…perhaps more so. With whom does the burden of proof lie in all areas of preventive health?
Next, try to deny the numerous reports of acute and subacute reactions to these vaccines. These “problems” with vaccines are not vaccine-specific. They are typical of all vaccines. These “problems” are the expected consequence of the vaccine madness that we have all been brain-washed with: A vaccine for every ailment, an ailment for every vaccine.

I’ve been trying to follow the vaxer/antivax dialog as closely as I can, as I believe we all should, bcause it’s critically important to our health. I recently came across an article titled “Cardiovascular Risks from Swine Flu Vaccines” by Dr Mae-Wan Ho of ISIS on 10/11/09.

This article could represent a VERY IMPORTANT safety signal which characterizes ALL vaccines, not just flu vaccines. This article could foretell a convergence between the hemorheologic-hemodynamic theory of atherogenesis and Andrew Moulden’s theory of microvascular ischemia, infarctions, and anoxia, as being the final common pathway of vaccine toxicity and many disease conditions.

Sorry, I didn’t get the sequence quite right: first, there is sludging of blood, stasis of blood, coagulation of blood, microvascular ischemia, anoxia, infarctions, and necrosis (cell death).
Our blood behaves like a colloid. Electrostatic charges in our blood and the zeta potential are important hemorheologic parameters of blood. Aluminum salts are highly charged ions with a pronounced effect upon zeta potential and sludging of blood. Inflammatory cells are recruited, e.g. macrophages.
A great pathologist by the name of Rudolph Virchow described the factors which influence blood clotting more than a century ago. Andrew Moulden, M.D., Ph.D., has expanded upon Virchow’s work from the perspective of a neurobiologist and neurologist.
Is this the basic common mechanism by which all vaccines demonstrate cummulative, synergistic toxicity?

It’s not a very “anecdotal story” when your once perfectly healthy daughter becomes bedridden for over a year because of the Gardasil vaccine. We have spent virtually all of our waking hours trying to get her better. How there is even a debate about the dangers of Gardasil at this point are beyond me. VAERS and the FDA are an absolute joke and we should have known all we needed to know about Merck by their handling of Vioxx and their other “blockbuster” drugs that kill people.
How many more girls need to be injured before Gardasil is pulled from the market? When will mainstream medicine realize that there’s a problem and start helping these girls?

As a parent of a 19 year old who was has missed the past two semesters of college due to Gardasil, I take offense to the references of “ANECDOTAL stories about adverse events” and “their families, CLAIM were injured by the vaccine” in the above article.
Prior to receiving the vaccine my daughter was a happy and healthy student and college athlete. One month after receiving the second vaccine she became extremely ill and as not been the same since. She has suffered from autoimmune problems including Hashimotos’s, chronic EBV, strep throat, extreme fatigue, face and body swelling, brain fog and inflamation, hair loss and a variety of other problems. She also did not have a period for over a year after receiving the second vaccine.
Somehow I think if Ed spent a week watching my daughter or any of the thousands of other girls who are suffering from similar side effects or worse, he would chose whose words differently.

Just for fun look up how many children Merck has killed with their vaccines. I think if more parents knew that their children would have SIDS a couple days after they were innoculated with vaccines and it would be written off. If your child is murdered by Mercks vaccine, the government covers it up. They don’t care about your children. They just care about poisoning your children. Search Vaers Data Base just look up Merck and deaths.

Vet - It may be too early to celebrate. The Supreme Court is going to visit the vaccine safety and preemption issue, at least once. Makes me wonder whether anyone on the federal vaccines court read the article by Robert F. Kennedy Jr (link posted above by Vince) of March 11, 2010, by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. titled _Central Figure in CDC Vaccine Cover-Up Absconds With $2M_.

To be more specific, the vaccine court’s ruling pertained only to the absence of a role for the thimerosal preservative in vaccine injury, leaving aside the role of the vaccines themselves. To me, it’s pretty much academic, since vaccine makers have long since removed thimorosal from human vaccines, or reduced it to infinitesimally small quantities.

After two years, my daughter, Victoria still remains severely ill and disabled as a result of Gardasil. Her symptoms are severe and debilitating. She was unable to complete high school and has no normalcy in her life. She was recently approved for SSI. I have been trying to “spread the word” for two years about the dangers of this vaccine. I keep hoping that the medical community will someday offer us some support/answers.
I am so thankful to all of those involved in helping to bring the dangers of this vaccine to the FDA.

My 16 year old daughter has been sick for almost a year since she received the first Gardasil. She had never been sick, with the exception of a cold. Here are some of the symptoms she now suffers daily: Nausea,Stomach Pain, Dizziness,Fatigue,Headache,Neck Pain, Leg Pain, Tremors, Hair Loss. The suffering these girls are going throught is very real.
Why would parents make up or CLAIM that their daughters or loved ones where injured. I know I have much better things to do than tell stories about Gardasil, I spend all my time now, caring for my daugher, doctors appointments and telling everyone about the severe side effects of Gardasil. Here,Here! - Vince. The legion of “vaxers”, including Pharmavet, love to accuse the healthy skeptics and “anti-vaxers” of depending on “junk science”. The irony is palpable. The reality is just the opposite. It’s been the vaxers, all along, who have depended on “junk science”. The courts, including the Supreme Court, need to understand this. The court of public opinion needs to understand this too. The mainstream media needs to disavow, or at least reconsider, their very one-sided (biased) presentation of the vaccine-autism debate.

Patrons, at least you didn’t make the case for judicial bias. The judges in these cases were Special Masters. A judge can only become a Special Master if he/she has a long record of experience, integrity, fairness, and judicial ethics. I sensed no lack of due process in these cases, unless you have found one that I missed.

My daughter did get the Gardasil vaccination, because at the time, we trusted our doctor and thought the risks were minimal. I thought getting our daughter immunized was what a responsible parent did.
It’s completely obvious to me now that if Gardasil was something other than a vaccine, it would be off the market already. The FDA and CDC think they can’t afford to pull the product; it would then open themselves up to more scrutiny regarding other vaccines. So, we don’t look forward to any help from mainstream medecine to help our daughter, after all, the government says all vaccines are safe (oh, and that your taxes won’t go up).
So, we will continue to work with the MD’s that don’t accept the status quo, the growing number of interested researchers, and other Gardasil parents to try to figure out how to make our daughters healthy again.

I have no definitive position about Gardasil beyond being against it being mandated.
I do think Merck’s marketing has raised serious questions from the beginning, as the Rothmans discussed in JAMA a couple of years ago.
Some of my own students go to health services and return with an “info sheet” about the vaccine that is dated three months after Gardasil was approved. From that, and what I have heard, I do not believe either benefits or risks are appropriately conveyed to them.

Vet - “bilious chortle from the junk scientists”. Oh really!!! I don’t think so. After reading the following three articles, do we have any volunteers from the VAXERS willing to be “jabbed” with Gardasil or Cervarix, both of which contain aluminum adjuvants?
Bottom line: a neurotoxin is a neurotoxin, and no amount of “bilious chortle” from the VAXERS will ever change that reality.

I am assisting a co-worker/friend of mine in trying to find information on how to “counter-act” the effects of gardisil. Immediately after her daughter received her shot of gardisil she began having seizures and quite a few of the other “severe” side effects. Has anyone been able to find information on how to counter-act the side effects? She’s desperate. Her family’s lives have been turned upside down by this and her daughter has had to drop out of every sporting event she had always participated in. She’s suffering at least 3-5 seizures per day. Her Dr. sent her to a psychiatrist for counseling and she’s got an appointment at the Mayo Clinic next month.

I took a look at the website and the slide deck, and though I did not agree with all the conclusions, was very impressed with how well this group made their point. In particular I was struck by the slides pointing out that the vaccine is being administered without screening to determine whether the patient has already been exposed to the virus, this seems very hard to justify. Especially given that this is a comparatively rare cancer.
Patrons, I took a look at the articles you cited and cannot agree that these make a compelling case against aluminium adjuvants.
The first paper describes studies in which Al was injected directly adjacent to the spinal cord in rats. The behavioral effects were judged by non-blinded referees. I was not able to access the second paper.
The third paper, “Long-term persistence of vaccine-derived aluminum hydroxide is associated with chronic cognitive dysfunction” is a study of a syndrome that comprises <200 patients worldwide. It does not show an association in the general population as implied by the title of the article. Would be very interesting to see the effect of a chelating agent in this population though.
BTW, the Al in a single vaccine dose (0.1 to 0.8 mg) is on the order of daily absorption from dietary sources (0.1 mg/day). Assuming 100% dissolution, the Al in a single vaccine shot would provide a serum level of less than 1 ppm, which is orders of magnitude too low to affect viscosity.

I can’t believe all the lunatics on this site railing against vaccines. The mortality rate for smallpox was around 30% and killed up to half a billion in the 20th century. In some cultures, parents didn’t name their children until after they had survived smallpox. The reason? They didn’t want to become too emotionally attached to them until they had beaten smallpox. Polio, whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria and meningitis are just lovely illnesses too, and cervical cancer is a real day at the beach! Fortunately, the miracle of the vaccine eradicated smallpox and is in the process of eradicating other. Unfortunately, all too many people apparently know exceedingly little about recent history.
