Hired someone new and exciting? Promoted a rising star? Finally solved that hard-to-fill spot? Share the news with us and we’ll share with it others. That’s right. Send us your announcements and we’ll find a home for them. Don’t be shy. Everyone wants to know who is coming and going, especially with all the layoffs. Despite the downsizing, there is movement. Here are some of the latest changes. Recognize anyone?
And here is our regular feature. Send us a photo and we will spotlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Avalere Health hired Leigh Ann Bruhn as a director. Previously, she was a director of managed care marketing at Abbott Laboratories, where she led both managed care and brand marketing teams. Prior to Abbott, she held various marketing and finance roles at Pfizer and Baxter International.
We should also note that Jeffrey Spaeder was hired as chief medical and scientific officer at Quintiles, succeeding Oren Cohen who now leads the Phase I clinical research business. Prior to joining Quintiles, Spaeder was executive director of global medical affairs for Takeda Pharmaceuticals International, where he developed global medical affairs strategy for the cardio-metabolic and diabetes franchises.
And we have one more winner: Qforma hired Joe Amoroso as director of client services. Prior to joining Qforma, which provides analytics and predictive modeling, he worked for UCB, where he led field sales teams throughout the Eastern US.
Nycomed US named Brian Markison as ceo and president;

This is “a three picture morning” - I know that isn’t quite the same as “a three dog night” but is it a record?
Inquirng minds want to know … partially because we have faulty memories. Rock on, Mr Ed!

This blog site often doesn’t get enough credit for some of the positive things the industry does. Since Akrimax was mentioned, I will take the opportunity to say that when the company was started in 2006 at Rouses Pt, New York, they saved the jobs of about 800 former Wyeth employees who would have otherwise lost them. I know some of the folks at Akrimax, and they deserve a lot of credit.
Apparently so did then senator Hillary Clinton, shown here taking a plant tour of the facility.
